Supply chain

At BalTraWed, Guinea represents more than a sourcing origin — it’s the foundation of our vision for the future of fine cocoa. By combining strategic local investment with European quality standards and a global perspective, we are building a resilient, ethical supply chain that elevates West African cocoa onto the world stage.

Strategic Sourcing from Guinea

Guinea is quickly emerging as a key player in global cocoa. In 2023, it ranked 10th in the world, exporting over $216 million worth of beans.

Warehouses

Our warehouses are strategically located in Nzerekore — close to the farming regions — and in Conakry — near the port — to optimize both inland logistics and international shipping. This dual-location setup enables efficient storage, faster turnaround, and reduced transit times, ensuring your beans arrive fresh and on schedule.

Drying Facilities

We operate modern drying stations designed to control temperature, airflow, and timing — ensuring consistent, slow drying that locks in quality. This controlled environment prevents mold development, preserves flavor, and guarantees beans maintain the ideal moisture content for long-term storage and transport.

Quality Control

At every stage — from harvest through shipment — our beans undergo rigorous quality testing. We monitor key indicators such as moisture levels, bean integrity, aroma, and contamination. Our commitment to strict quality control ensures compliance with international food safety standards and consistency you can trust.

European Standards, Local Expertise

From field to shipment, we oversee every step of the process. Our vertically integrated model allows us to maintain full control — from selecting the finest raw beans at the source, through careful processing and quality checks, to final packaging and export. By combining deep local knowledge with strict adherence to European quality standards, we ensure that every batch consistently meets the highest expectations of our international partners.
